For many years, Fashion has brought forth change in a womans look, shape and self being. Confidence has been taken and brought back in the years. We as silent Fashionistas have taken a stand in Fashion and created our own looks and our own way of expressing ourselves through our clothing. GOOD JOB PEOPLE, thats HIP.
UNKNOWN GLAMOUR...
UNKNOWN GLAMOUR...

Glamorous film clips, photographs, and dancers' vivid recollections convey a portrait of veteran Philadelphia women hoofers prominent during the golden age of swing and rhythm tap (1930s-1940s). This exhibition focuses on women who "came up" from the 1920s through the present. Restricted to few roles, unnamed in credits, these African American women dancers have remained anonymous within and outside of the entertainment industry and sometimes even in the communities in which they reside.
Egypt
Egypt

For many centuries, people have assumed the way the Egyptians lived, worshiped and dressed. For centuries, people have assumed they knew the way of the Egyptians heart and reason for carrying there lives in secret and writing using paintings in 3d when there was no such thing.
Regardless of what you or I may believe, the Egyptian woman and man set style in many high levels, that suddenly fainted then after a very long period of time, returned to us. From pleating, colors, shear, head pieces, jewelry, hair extensions, fragrances and many other fabulous ideas, the Egyptian way of life/style is still over looked but yet acknowledged.
Inside and out
Inside and out
Whatever you feel usually shows on the outside through fashion. When you are ashamed of some parts of your body, you will hide it, when your down you tend to wear dark colors. Without being fully aware of it, you show people how you feel through the clothing you choose to wear day by day. There is nothing wrong with that, I am guilty of the same thing. My new thing is wearing really dark shades when I dont want to be bothered, celebrity style!!! But if you can try to add a little color to your dark mood, you will not be cured from your blue feelings 100%, but at least 25%, which is better than 0 any day of the week!

What Makes U?
What Makes U?
What makes you feel beautiful? Is it what you wear, make-up, hair, your weight, etc...What defines beauty now a days, usually it is what we see on others and to me its the type of look you would choose if you had one wish to change your whole entire identity...For starters, I love hair, I wasn't blessed with alot of it so I add on. With out my hair a certain length and done a certain way, I feel like my shield is lost, destroyed and I'm naked infront of my favorite lady, "Vera Wang", yes that serious people!!!....so whats your shield of beauty? Or, if you had a wish what would the power beauty look be?
Where Is It Taking You?
Where Is It Taking You?
Now that its 2010 and fashion is still in the state of "Do what you wanna do!" What is your favorite fashion focus for the spring?...Mines are deeply creased skinny leg jeans, that have a splash of white, bleached out look to them, with my black thin straped top with a thin button down top with a nice wide belt a little above my waist and of course bracelets and old fashion, vintage necklaces.
POINT OF FASHION...
POINT OF FASHION...

It took me awhile to be able to write about this, but I believe I am ready. Before I start, let me put you on to when I started to become the Alexander McQueen fan, it was 7 years ago and I accidently found his designs through style and fell inlove with his use of architecture, fabric choices and creative swag. I had never seen anything like it, never! That day I became his fan and never looked back...So as you can imagine, when I heard of the suicide my heart dropped and it felt like everything went silent and mind you I was on the busy train in Brooklyn, getting ready for the Mid-Fashion Week experience with my god brother. I was hurt, confused and felt as if my motivator had left me, without a goodbye, without a sign, without a fight to get through it. I kept hearing the words over and over again, "he world known fashion couture designer Alexander McQueen has commited suicide this morning at his London home!" Then it came to me, when inspiration is all you live off of, when a dream is all you have nothing else matters, not even your life. Its like all hope is gone and some gone down a dark hole, while others give up and say"theres nothing to live for anymore." If Iwas able to see him, meet him, know him, I would say this as a fan, "You were the reason I went back to fashion, you were the reason I payed more attention to my surroundings and designed outside the box, all the way out, I look for your designs, rip them out the pages and say this is my motivation, this is passion, this is the way you speak with out moving your mouth, this is true FASHION!"
RIP....ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
Something that can't be put into one word!!!
Something that can't be put into one word!!!

Does she show submission or empowerment and control? Does he look like he is in a trance because of her stand out beauty or in pure hypnotic lust? Does her body show control or submission? Can you see more than what the eye sees? Do you see FASHION? Whatever answer you choose, there is no wrong one because thats Fashion, a self opinionated world that stands on mountains of fabrics and millions of new ideas. All that are created for you and I to run to, purchase and showcase. Fashion is a way of whatever I like, type of thing, a walk of pride in self, a sexy, deep, mind blowing love affair that can only get stronger as the time goes by like this picture of my sister and her talented Man. This is Fashion in a "I got this!" way and in a "I'm so much Fshion that I dont need nothing but my bra and undies on!"Type of thing. Showing both submission and control, lust and trance, exotic but yet Fashion. Open your mind to new doors and dreams that are out of the box, that when a person tries to explain your accomplishment, they can never use a one word expression!
Hello Change!
Hello Change!
This New Year, Dont look back look forward, look beyond, bust down those walls and of course look fabulous while your doing it!!!
We Make It...
We Make It...
The pain we go through for Fashion, to stand out, to be different, to be seen and out shine others. We are just like the women who did things to create the smallest waist, the smallest feet and the biggest hair. We as women always took the extra 30 steps to look better than the rest or just for pure vanity sakes. The things we do for beauty, makes you wonder why men never change? Is it because we go through so many changes in appearances, sizes and pure emotons that they are so busy watching us, that they never have time to critique themselves, or do we make it look like it is too much. Either way, we as women have always been the reason fashion is fashion, because we constantly change without force or much thought. One day its skirts, then the next pants, then flats, then stilletos. If we changed Fashion as women for decades which is a multi billion dollar industry, what else can we do?
SCENE KIDS
SCENE KIDS

The new thing is not emo, but scene kids. What is a scene kid?...scene kid = boy/girl. usually seen wearing neon colors w/ black. leopard and/or zebra print obsessed. hair colored at least 2 different colors and cut at different angles. Female scene kids just ADORE neon colored eye shadow and wear one thousand layers of eyeliner. hair of both sexes is usually parted to the side.
So basically...all in all a scene kid is a better word for Emo kid, which is cool with me because I look at the style side of it, not the other emotional and lonely existence they put out there. Their style is beyond the eye, out there with vibrant hues, massive hair with colors, piercings just to express there middle finger attitude. We may look and stare at them, but sometimes we should step out of the whats right and wrong and embrace. Even though the bright colors wont fade away, but the hidden dark eyeshadow may fade and they wont feel as if we are all against them.
Fashion Restrictions
Fashion Restrictions

Why isn't Fashion from the inside out, instead of the outside pretending to reflect the end side. Why isn't self expression more popular than hidden lives and covered emotions. Can the new Fashion trend be you? Can the new Fashion color be your favorite color? Why do we need people to guide us and instruct us on what is in and what is not...I mean if you still like rocking leggings, what the hell is the big deal? You feel good in it! You feel fabulous. How come self expression feels so chained...Have you broken that chain?
I DARE YOU!!!
I DARE YOU!!!

WHAT MAKES THIS WOMAN SEXY? Is it the way she looks? Her hair, the way she is carefully leaning to the side, with her hand cautiously curved in barely touching the wall? Or is it the lingerie and alcohol in her cup, that tells the world she is a bad mutha-SHUT YOUR MOUTH-...What is it? In common american beauty, is she beautiful? If you saw her in the street, would you really feel as if she was so gorgeous or do you think she is beautiful because that same common american beauty told you she was?

Hes known as "Lord of the Pants" and for good reason. Designer Alvin Valley makes pants fashion that get rave reviews from women of every size who love their "new" curve.
In fact, his pants are such a hit that hes having his trouser pattern patented as the Wonderbutt. "he understands that real women do have a butt and boobs," says movie queen Kate Winslet, who has asked him to create an entire post-pregnancy wardrobe for her.
Inspired by the figure of supermodel Naomi Campbell, he started experimenting with different patterns until he hit on the one that has been dubbed the Wonderbutt. The pants have darts around the buttocks to control them and push excess skin up.
"It minimizes the area toward one point so its small, narrow and perky," says the designer. Even women who prefer looser-fitting clothes are impressed with how they look in these pants.
Theyll be in department stores soon, but cheap, theyre not. Price tags range from $375 to $800. hey, plastic surgery costs a lot more!

The more effort you put into dressing the part, the higher your chances of getting the job. This is one of the most fundamental and basic rules of impressing during an interview. This may be an old rule but even in this modern age, dressing to impress continues to play a major role in helping interviewers select the right candidate. When you put a lot of effort into your clothing for the interview, it tells the interviewer that the job is important to you or that you are serious about getting the job. While you might impress your interviewer with your attitude and guts by turning up in shorts, sneakers and t-shirt, you probably will not get the job. At the first point of introduction, you would have been mentally sized up and then struck off the list of potential candidates!
Sadly, even in this modern era, it is better to err on the side of being conventional and conservative rather than trying to dress according to the work that you are required to do. Stick to conventional rules and you cannot go very far off the mark.
Right now, you are probably thinking to yourself - "How do I dress to impress my potential employer during an interview and STILL keep to conventional rules?" It's hard to impress with your dressing when you look just like everyone else.
That is not entirely true though. You see, for women, keep to solid colors (preferably a suit), well coordinated blouse, corporate-looking shoes (sandals are out of the question), tone down on the jewelry, and groom your hair neatly - you will not go far wrong. As long as you do not go overboard with the makeup, wear too much perfume, or have unruly hair, you will be quite safe.
Dressing for an interview does not mean that you have to shock your interviewers, try to keep things relatively simple, and combine your proper dressing with proper etiquette, attitude and qualification; there is little doubt that your potential employer will be impressed!
This does not mean that men do not have to dress to impress the interviewer. In fact, it has been shown that interviewers can be stricter and more stringent on men's dress code during an interview. One small mistake and the first impression may be ruined, and we all know that the first impression is very hard to reverse - if not impossible.
As you can see, what you decide to wear to your job interview continues to be one of the biggest influencing factors that determine if you are ultimately successful or otherwise. If you do not want to be struck off the list the moment you walk into the interview room, keep to the norm and impress them with the effort you've put in to look right for the part.

In recent years, shoppers made a few big investments or headed to stores like Target or H&M. Sales or womens clothing dropped 6.6 percent last year; midlevel apparel departments in stores took the biggest hit. Suddenly, the industry is waking up to the fact that women who may not want to pay a lot of style, said David Wolfe, a consultant to national retailers. Designers want to roll out the welcome mat at stores like Bloomingdales and Nordstrom with styles that are sleek and shophisticated, while keeping prices down.
